Manage: Magnify - IT Service Management for Citrix

GlassHouse Technologies would like to announce the availability of our Citrix specific IT Service Management service offering for mid-market customers. This service, called Magnify, has been developed to address the issue where poorly performing or unavailable IT systems often result from the inappropriate monitoring and management of the business' Citrix environment. This in turn has a direct impact to the productivity of the users accessing the Citrix environment, and the business’ bottom line.

Magnify provides proactive monitoring of the Citrix environment, alerting GlassHouse's service delivery team to issues before users are impacted.

Magnify has been developed to provide Citrix specific resolver group functions, allowing for the service to be integrated with an existing ITSM Service Stack, and to provide enhanced Citrix monitoring and management functions for the business.

Based on Citrix best practice and the Citrix XenDesktop 7.x Handbook, Magnify builds upon the standard Citrix management tools such as Director and Insight Centre, and provides the necessary extensions to ensure that all facets of the Citrix environment are monitored.

Whether your Citrix environment is hosted in-house, within a Private Cloud, or incorporates the Public Cloud, Magnify can be used to monitor and manage your environment.

The Magnify service is flexible and the monitoring components can be deployed either on premises or within the Public Cloud, depending on the business’ requirements.

Where monitoring and service management is required beyond the Citrix specific components of the environment, Magnify has been developed to be extensible and can be used for the entire IT services stack. This includes elements of the underlying hypervisor, compute, storage, and network resources.

Magnify is ITIL v3 based and has been ratified by GlassHouse’s team of Citrix Certified Experts (CCE-V) to ensure that the processes are in line with what should be expected for level 2 through level 4 resolver groups, allowing Magnify to be used for the Operations, Implementation, and Architecture service management components.

Incorporated into the service are quarterly SLA reviews and reporting on the health and performance / capacity of the Citrix environment.

The commercial model for Magnify is based on the number of named users (Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop) and the number of infrastructural elements maintained under the service. The model is flexible and can scale with the business as the needs for Citrix ITSM evolve, providing a degree of certainty for the business as to the cost of service, whilst allowing for elements to change.
